Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope everyone is enjoying themselves gearing up for the holidays. Apologies for it being such a long time since the last newsletter was sent out.

Hope you enjoy reading the new newsletter and again please always feel free to reply and say ‘hello.’ It’s been great hearing back from so many people!

Much love,
XO Kym Campbell

Recording

While Christmas holidays for most mean time-off for relaxing, mine is going to consist of recording in Melbourne and then flying to the Gold Coast to shoot a music video. It certainly means there won’t be much time for resting but, still, I’m not complaining =)

After going to Japan a few months ago for the Sounds Australia showcase I was able to meet with a major label in Japan and confirm dates for my full album release in Japan for early next year. This means with the national tour finally done and dusted, I am heading straight back into the studio to record! The album will be released in April of next year followed by a full tour in Japan. But first, for those of you in the rest of the world I will first be releasing a new single called ‘Anyone But You’ and touring nationally in Australia in 2011 to support the release.

Music Video for ‘Real Life’

After my recording session in Melbourne I will be shooting my first music video over Christmas on the Gold Coast, which should be released around March/April of next year. Stikman Films, a very talented local Gold Coast film company, will be doing the shoot and their efforts are going to make the music video clip something to remember. You can check out their website at StikmanFilms.com. Nick from Stikman Films also made a special trip down to Melbourne a few days ago to capture some of the recording for ‘Moments’ on film which will be made into a separate clip and be available on my new youtube channel shortly – youtube.com/kymcampbellmusic

Interested In Helping Out? Get Involved!

With more tour dates underway we are again looking for people who live near Newcastle, the Central Coast, Sydney and Noosa to help out with promotion. This usually involves putting up posters or doing promo on facebook/twitter etc. As a thank you I’ll be giving out free merchandise (t-shirts, signed posters, stickers, etc) to anyone willing to help. If you are interested please email me at kym@kymcampbell.com.

What Went Down in Cancun?

I found this great audio clip the other day talking about what happened at the Climate Change Summit in Cancun. Cancun was a big deal in regard to the world actually doing something about climate change, however once again there are big gaps between what needs to be done and what is actually being done...
