Dear friends,
I hope this email finds you all well. Next Thursday, the 26th, the band and I will be back at Pete’s Candy Store at 8:30pm. We’ll be playing some new songs and some less new songs. It’s free and it will be a fun night. We’d love to see you there.
I’m in the midst of planning a tour to New Orleans and back for this summer. If you live somewhere between New York and New Orleans and know of some venues we should play at, please feel free to get in touch.
Come hang out with us at Pete’s next Thursday!
Love,
Jessie

The Daily News: “Her songs are layered and lush, confessional and haunting..quite compelling.”
CMJ feature: “Nocturnal Drifter is an intense, heartfelt LP with each song carefully-crafted amid echoing, strong harmonies that outline a journey of self-discovery.The soft, sensual arches of Kilguss' distinctive voice are hypnotic and make Nocturnal Drifter a compelling, enchanting listen, with a voice controlling the musical direction in an exceptional form.”
Exclaim!: “From cabaret-style ballads to lushly produced pop soundscapes, quirky experimental and orchestral touches throughout the disc highlight Kilguss's voice and her striking melodies. The diffident buzz of these electronic flourishes makes tracks like 'A Little Place Behind My Eyes' and 'Strangers On A Train' as compelling as a habit-forming substance.”
Power of Pop - interview and review: “Almost all of the ten tracks on this album showcase a different character being channeled to tell a story and to Kilguss' credit - done seamlessly and without a hitch in the flow of the desired plot. A testament to tapping into the creativity of being in character with her training as an actor and painting the desired backdrop and tapestry of each piece with her talent as a songwriter and her unique voice.”
Wildy’s World: “Don't be surprised if Nocturnal Drifter is looked back upon in certain circles as a seminal album of the Indie movement in the first decade of the twenty-first century… Don't miss out on this one.”
Sun on the Sand: “Jessie is further at odds with her more prominent contemporaries in that her music does not solely function as a quirky spin on the past. Instead, it is forward thinking, drawing on Joni Mitchell, Patti Smith, and the other female singer-songwriter hallmarks, but transcending their influences… Nocturnal Drifter is the missing piece of the puzzle in that it operates in the present and past tense, using influences as a benchmark without being content to merely rest there.”
