Hey Team GB!

I know it hasn't been all that long since you got one of these here newsletters, but we've got 2 exciting new tour dates added that I want to make sure you know about, and one of them is THIS WEEK! On Wednesday, April 4th, Josh and I will be playing an acoustic Golden Bloom set opening for Guster's Acoutic Tour stop in St. Louis, MO! We did a few of these acoustic duo shows back in the fall and we're really looking forward to taking it to the stage of a beautiful theatre - The Sheldon Concert Hall. Guster and Golden Bloom go back along way, as you can see in this Polaroid of Ryan, Shawn, and a stuffed animal known as "Big Friend". We've also added a show in New Haven, CT on May 2nd opening for The Spinto Band! If you don't know The Spinto Band - check them out! They are fantastic and have a new album out any day now! Stay tuned for some more May tour dates to be announced in the near future.

Daytrotter Session + Contest!

Last year we crossed an item off of our musical bucket list when we taped a Daytrotter session at their flagship studio in Rock Island, IL. There's nothing like walking into a studio chock-full of vintage amps and gear, and recording a short set straight to tape! No edits, no auto-tuning or time-shifting. Daytrotter allows you to hear a band in their rawest and realest form. We are really proud of this session, mistakes and all. It's honest and real and we hope you enjoy it!

The Philistines Jr. Covers/Remix Album

Peter Katis (who mixed several Golden Bloom songs on both Fan the Flames and March to the Drums) has a great band with his brother Tarquin called The Philistines Jr. Last year they released their first album in about 10 years called If a Band Plays in the Woods...? On November 1st they released a covers/remix album with contributions from The National, Mates of State, Tokyo Police Club, Mercury Rev, Frightened Rabbit, and your truly, GOLDEN BLOOM!
